On a trip to the Ligurian Riviera, Paolo and Tiziana are inspired by a place where the beauty of the landscape is combined with the unique elegance of Italian style: Portofino. Walking along the coast of this picturesque town, the bonfires lit for the ‘Falò di San Giorgio’ festival, with their energy and magic, come to mind. They also think of their childhood by the sea, which was always fundamental in the main moments of their lives and an inexhaustible source of inspiration for their work. This is how the idea for this new perfume was born.

The Terenzi siblings are enamoured by the unique setting of Portofino: the crescent-shaped bay, framed by green hills, offers a picturesque sight - a spectacle of breathtaking beauty. In the 1960s, the lifestyle of the Riviera was characterised by the elegance of the dolce vita. The playboys known as Les Italiens began their triumphal march ‘barefoot, in jeans and with wind-blown hair’.

In picturesque bays and on golden sandy beaches, you could live out the Dolce Vita dream. Celebrities and artists met here to celebrate and enjoy the extraordinary beauty of these landscapes. It was a time of a special way of life on the Riviera, characterised by grace and class. People wore smart clothes and had a sense of beauty. A golden age of fashion and lifestyle in which Portofino became an icon of elegance and beauty.

The name Rivèa is derived from ‘Rive’, which means beach or promenade in the Ligurian dialect. Whoever smells Rivèa is transported to an atmosphere steeped in the dolce vita and the marvellous beauty of Italy.

The fragrance opens with a bouquet of Bulgarian rose, emphasised by Iranian saffron and lemon from Sorrento, on a bed of Indian davana. The opulent top notes rest on equally lush, seductive heart notes: Vetiver from Laos provides an earthy, woody base, and seaweed from Liguria's Tigullio lends a salty aftertaste reminiscent of the smell of the sea.

Ceylon cypriol and amyris from Haiti provide mossy, woody nuances, patchouli from Singapore adds a slightly earthy touch and ambergris rounds off the heart with a sensual, captivating note.

The base notes of this wonderful creation envelop the senses with a lingering, intoxicating warmth. Ambergris is also perceptible here and, in combination with Australian sandalwood, provides a woody sweetness. Cypress from Portofino adds a touch of Mediterranean freshness, enriched by hints of Madagascar bourbon vanilla.
