Opus I is part of the „Library Collection“ by Amouage, containing three virtuoso scents, a precious scented tribute to creativity and perfumer´s virtuosity, inspired by the magical aura of a library, an universe of knowledge and experiences written down.

Each of the three scents of the Amouage Opus series is a brilliant masterpiece – a true „opus“. Like a great book in a library, the scents of the Library Collection are timeless pieces which are not subject to fashion... unique works of impressive, classical beauty.

The fragrance – Opus I

This wonderful chypre scent by perfumer Daniel Maurel opens with delicate notes of Bigarade, plum and cardamom, which flow into an opulent floral heart with notes of roses, jasmine, tuberose, ylang-ylang and lily of the valley. The wonderful floral heart finally leads to a very rich base note with fragrance impressions of papyrus, cedar wood, guaiac-wood, incense, tonka bean, sandalwood and vetiver ... a true feast for the senses!

The flacon and packaging

Even the fragrance bottle is a little masterpiece. The „Opus“ flacon was made of the finest crystal glass in France and is crowned with a gilded sealing cap. Its clear lines and gentle curves make the bottle a timeless classic. Its flat design (as well as the packaging, coated with a champagne coloured fabric and decorated with a thin black ribbon) is reminiscent of that of a book. And, indeed: placed side by side, when viewed from the side, the three scents of the Opus series look like a small collection of books ...
