Cooper Square – that up-and-coming hot spot of New York, where the East Village meets NoHo, gives ist name to this wonderful intense, contemporary Eau de Parfum.

For a century and a half, Cooper Square was regarded as something like the front yard of Cooper Union, that world-famous architecture and engineering institution. But nowadays, Cooper Square is in motion — and acquiring a new image as the latest New York hot-spot (even worth to get created its own Eau de Parfum by Bond No. 9!).

The Cooper Square is actually a triangle, whose sharp end points, arrowlike, downtown. It was named after Peter Cooper, the 19th century inventor, entrepreneur and philanthropist from New York who founded Cooper Union so that others could benefit from the formal education he never had. Over the years, the park’s surroundings have formed a mini-campus with many students, hipsters and tourists, with pizza and felafel joints, margarita and mojito bars, Japanese hair salons, tapas and sushi joints, yoga studios, a vinyl record shop, and even a mansard-roof Parisian style hôtel particulier across the street.

However, that atmosphere has changed a bit just lately, since sleek and gleaming new buildings were created on and around Cooper Square - including two hotels (the Bowery and the Cooper Square), a luxurious apartment building with a swimming pool on the roof, as well as some edgy clothing boutiques. One could say, this is something like New York Downtown in future mode, mixed in with treasures from the good old past of New York.

The fragrance

Cooper Square by Bond No. 9 is an Eau de Parfum designed for this emerging milieu. That fragrance is warm and intense in a contemporary way. Rich in spices and incense, it’s really seductive in its calming effects. Cognac, lavender, patchouli, and an ambery, feral Mediterranean flowering plant called ciste labdanum are the key ingredients...

The bottle

The bottle of Cooper Square is a gleaming, chrome-finish flacon inspired by the new architecture the Square is surrounded with. Laser-etched with an overall patterning of the typical Bond No. 9 signature logo, this is a real study in high-tech spareness, playing with inner-outer light effects and transparency. When held up against the light, there will not only emerge its cut-out pattern on the opposite side, but you can also see a wonderfully shimmering pool of Eau de Parfum...
