Love and Tears is the ninth fragrance of the „L'Oeuvre Noire“ collection by Kilian - the last one of four chapters of the Kilian „Love“ theme is Kilian Hennessy's most personal fragrance creation. The scent that was created for women as well as for men bears the subtitle "surrender" – what means nothing less than unconditional surrender to love, exquisitely embodied by jasmine flower essence in the heart of the fragrance...

Kilian Hennessy believes that only the jasmine blossoms with their countless facets - from green, floral or citrus-fresh to even animal nuances – are able to express the range of those feelings and emotions that he wanted to present with this perfume creation:

„The beginning of a new love - with all its emotional storms and excitement, the fear of the unknown, and, finally, the moment in which one completely surrenders to love...“

That complex world of emotions Kilian Hennessy did not want to express with the conventional impressions of jasmine - but he rather prefered to focus on two dramatic aspects of jasmine: the sacred - and the erotic one...

The fragrance

The composition of Love and Tears (perfumer: Calice Becker), one can almost imagine as a representational painting: the centre is Jasmin, with all its contrasting facets, flanked by different fragrance impressions underlining the erotic and sacred components. In the heart of Love and Tears beats and vibrates a very exclusive Jasmine Absolute from India - a wonderful jasmine impression that beguiles with intense scents of orange blossoms. The sacred aspect of the fragrance is highlighted by tasty Italian Bergamot, Petit Grain from Paraguay and French cypress ... while delicious notes of Indian jasmine, orange blossom from Spain, ylang ylang from Madagadaskar and Cistus from France masterfully accentuate the erotic side of Love and Tears ...
