Lanvin

A woman of talent:
Creative, innovative, endlessly curious, Jeanne Lanvin created her own universe within fashion, perfume and decoration.

"Niv Nal", "Irisé", then a dozen or so other perfumes, lotions like "Après le Sport" and "Cross Country", perfectly coherent with her fashion, were born before the first major success of "My Sin" in 1925. She then created "Lanvin Parfums", hired a young nose called André Fraysse and installed her laboratory in Nanterre.

In 1927, "ARPEGE" was launched to celebrate her musician daughter Marie Blanche’s 30th birthday. Albert Armand Rateau designs its famous bottle, the black sphere featuring Paul Iribe’s sketch, symbolising Jeanne Lanvin’s love for her daughter. It was a triumph.

Other great perfumes followed : Scandal in 1933, Rumeur in 1934, Prétexte in 1937, as well as toilet waters, powders, lipsticks, creams, suntan lotions… dynamising body splashes like "L’Eau de Lanvin" in 1933, a "health tonic for men and women".

Jeanne Lanvin worked with major specialists to create exceptional pieces of perfumery: Baccarat for their crystal bottles, the Manufacture de Sèvres for limited-edition coloured balls, Christophe for the "Prétexte" travel case and Cartier for a handbag case for Arpège.
