Olfactive Studio
Olfactive Studio is an encounter between contemporary
artistic photography and perfumery; between the eye and
the nose.
Olfactive Studio is at the crossroads of a photographic studio
and a perfume design studio. This is the first time ever
that perfumers have teamed up with photographers to
draw inspiration from their oeuvres. They sense the images
to capture their essence.
Photography and perfume capture the moment and rekindle
the memory of past experiences. Imagining a sensorial,
intimate, and poetic relationship between images and
scents is to reconcile temporal spaces.
«Perfumer’s proofs» are born out of the perfume creator’s
emotions invoked by the picture and have proved to be
authentic and original olfactory creations. They take us
from a world where perfumes are harvested to one where
time is captured.
Together, talented perfumers and photographers have
created Autoportrait, Chambre Noire, and Still Life.
Elegant and unconventional modernity emanates from
this wonderful alchemy. Olfactive Studio designs an exceptional
olfactory world with a powerful and distinctive personality;
a world of intuitions and emotions; a world designed
for women, men, and all others. The perfumes are angels;
they have no gender, but they have a soul.
An olfactive and collective studio is born. Inside it, just like
children, we are free to sniff images in motion.
Olfactive Studio was born out of a desire to create a resolutely
avant-garde and modern niche brand of perfumes, anchored in
its century, and toned down with a tradition at times oppressive
and dull that cultivates secret.
Olfactive Studio is the first collection of perfumes that gives curious
and passionate Internet users a step-by-step glimpse into the
behind-the-scenes of perfume creation as well as a voice on artistic
choices, making them the ambassadors of the brand.
Initially established around the «Blog for the fragrance that doesn’t
(yet) exist!» on Facebook,

The original manifesto
launched
on Facebook in February 2010 states: «Take part in the creation
of an intuitive, creative, artistic, unique niche brand of perfumes,
with a powerful personality, and the polar opposite of perfumes
brands launched with run-of-the-mill marketing campaigns. You
can share your ideas and opinions, comment on proposals and
artistic choices, and interact with the art director via the Facebook
fan page.
Olfactive Studio is a collaborative and participatory project that
will give birth to a new generation of perfumes.»
All the phases of the project were discussed at length on line, from
the choice of the concept to the name of the brand, and the
names of the first three perfumes, as well as the design of the
bottle and the packaging. The creation of fragrances has gone
from being a virtual project to reality thanks to «olfactory encounters
» with the community.
Here are some of Olfactive Studio’s Founding Principles:
«Respect for perfumers: A perfumer is an artist who is at his or her
best when creating fragrances for himself or herself, without instructions
or marketing constraints. Would we ask a painter to alter
his painting to make it fit in with our living room? Let’s value the «perfumers’
proofs»;

with strong personalities, made with beautiful raw materials
(natural raw materials are given preference), and, without price
constraints! We prefer to invest in the quality of raw materials rather
than in advertising.»
«Creativity and surprise rule! There is no infallible method to predict
the success of a fragrance, but cohesion is not a guarantee of
success. Enjoy the unconventional and the unusual between the
bottle, the perfume, and its image!»
Hurray to artistic intuition, pleasure, the desire to create, quality,
