The fragrance

Ambre Gris is a tribute to one of the finest and most original aromatic substances in upscale perfumery: Ambre Gris, grey amber, or 'floating gold', as it is also called.

The fragrance opens with the warm spiciness of pink berries and cinnamon, while floral notes exude pure femininity. In the heart the exquisite tuberose releases its heady and sensual scent, surrounded by aromatic Davana Essences of India, flanked by Immortelle, which brings a touch of honey, tobacco, hay, and coffee. The base note is warm and sexy with myrrh, smoked Guajak Wood, a few drops of benzoin and infatuateing white musk.

The flacon

The flacon interpretes geometric shapes as a clear statement of the two main actors of this scent: Pierre Balmain studied architecture, Christophe Decarnin worked for Paco Rabanne, the inventor of 'molded dresses'.

A glass block, a geometric cube, powerful and full of elegance. The clean lines are broken by a spherically shaped cap in sparkling metal. Is this a thimble (1982 Pierre Balmain was posthumously awarded the "Golden Thimble"), simply the idea of a whirling ball, a disco ball - or a symbol of the bright and noisy nights in Paris?
