Today, beautiful teeth and a dazzling smile are more than ever an essential component of our beauty ideal. In Western cultures, white teeth are deemed to be an expression of youth and vitality, and the desire to clean and whiten teeth can be traced back to ancient times. In the age of the Pharaohs, there were already more or less appetising recipes that were intended to make teeth whiter and more beautiful. Since the beginning of the 90s, the beauty industry has discovered the market.
Over the course of our lives, our teeth absorb colour pigments through food and stimulants, and become gradually darker. During bleaching, these colour pigments are oxidised with oxygen which causes them to lose their dark colouring. An effect that is, for example, also used when dyeing hair blonde. The substances used for this are very well known and correspondingly well tested.
Since 1989, several hundred scientific papers prove that teeth can be effectively whitened through appropriate procedures – in so far as they are applied correctly – and that teeth are not harmed in the process.
Thanks to his many years of practical experience in aesthetic dentistry and his research work, Dr. Velkoborsky is fully aware of the advantages and disadvantages of existing procedures (power bleaching, tray bleaching and OTC products).
Dr. Velkoborsky has brought these experiences into the SWISSDENT line for dental cosmetics and refined the corresponding processes or developed totally new ones.
The two bleaching products NANOWHITENING and XSTAIN symbolise a soft and gentle yet effective procedure (Swiss patent pending). All SWISSDENT products have been clinically tested. |
