Perris Monte Carlo - Italy Collection - Neroli Mediterraneo
The house of Perris Monte Carlo is expanding its Italy Collection with this lively, fresh Eau de Parfum - highlighting a fragrance theme that could hardly be more Italian: Neroli!
Neroli is an essential oil that is extracted from the blossom of the bitter orange tree by steam distillation. The Mediterranean essence is very precious: it takes 1,000 kg of flowers to extract 1.5 kg of neroli oil.
The history of neroli dates back to 17th century Italy. At that time, Anne Marie Orsini, Princess of Nerola, used the noble flower oil to perfume her bath water and her gloves. She is therefore regarded as the founder of a perfume trend that has never gone out of style to this day. It is thanks to the Princess of Nerola that the noble essence is called "Neroli".
The fragrance
For Neroli Mediterraneo, perfumer Gian Luca Perris selected a special neroli oil from the region of Calabria, world-renowned for its exquisite citrus production. The scent of the noble essence from the sunny south of Italy is flowery and fresh, flanked by slightly bitter and aromatic facets.
Neroli Mediterraneo starts with a vital freshness explosion of Italian citrus fruits: bergamot from Calabria, tangerine and bitter orange from Sicily. This citrus bang opens the way to the heart of the perfume, in which a radiant neroli note is surrounded by delicate flowers (orange blossom and geranium), fine spicy aromas (ginger, Timur pepper) and further olfactory aspects of bitter orange (petitgrain). A base of iris, musk and cedar wood gives the citrus-floral fragrance a soft and elegant finish.
The name of this perfume doesn't promise too much: Neroli Mediterraneo is deeply imbued with the spirit of bitter orange - and is as Mediterranean as a fragrance can be.
