Imaginary Authors - Memoirs of a Trespasser
Memoirs of a Trespasser is a resinous vanilla and myrrh scent based on the fantastical memoirs of the fictional explorer and diarist, Philip Sava. The story goes as follows: "The early exploration writing of Philip Sava bent the limits of post-modern fiction, revealing fantastical worlds that fooled many into believing they were, in fact, real. Sava's kaleidoscopic collections, of which Memoirs of a Trespasser is the undeniable centerpiece, drew upon true experiences from his exotic travels but were infused with a hallucinatory inventiveness that set his work apart from others in the genre. Though Sava had associates all over the world, he spent most of his time living in solitude on a ranch in southern Madagascar. When interrogated by the press on his cloistered lifestyle he notoriously answered, "Who needs love when you have cognac?" Memoirs of a Trespasser, the fragrance, is a very dry, resinous vanilla scent, redolent of old books, and underscored by bitter myrrh and a smoky booze note. It is a very adult vanilla that draws on the scent of the vanilla bean itself, which is to say, very dark and woody rather than sweet. Like the fictional story behind it, the scent carries a sense of mystery and derring do that makes us think of faraway adventures and pirates.
