The ancient Romans used to build monumental Baths to the art of wellness and of pleasant socialising. The Caldarium for the hot bath and the Frigidarium for the cold plunge were grouped around the great central hall, which contained the Tepidarium. It was here that patrons spent most of their time and indulged in the most relaxing part of the treatments, while chatting amiably with other guests.
