Once there was a student from Italy in Germany to take some “medieval” perfumery courses at the H&R company, formerly part of the Bayer group.

There was a huge amount of bottles containing different smelling materials available to his nose... and nothing else to do, apart from learning how to play with them – or getting drunk at the only pub in town.

His name was Alessandro and there was Arturetto too, both Italian. They were not brothers, but where both male, and they shared a passion somewhere inside – their love for perfume.
Arturetto – older and an already experienced nose – taught Alessandro his knowledge of perfumery.

Then Alessandro left Germany and tried to create perfumes for different fashion designers such as Romeo Gigli, Versace, Valentino, Helmut Lang, Fendi etc… until he met a guy called Renzo who asked him to create perfumes for his company called Diesel.

After this nice experience, Alessandro moved to Amsterdam where he set up a small laboratory. Working on different projects in cooperation with artists and for different niche brands, he decided to fulfil his dream to start creating his own perfume line.

Thus after 18 years of work and experience in the perfume world, he finally realized his personal project: the creation of perfumes mainly inspired by the desire to be free from the market rules. The project Nasomatto was born!

This project is dedicated to people who have a strong interest in a distinguished perfume choice. Alessandro believes that our senses are the primary instruments which generate our instinctive reactions and drive our process of judging and choosing. It is Alessandro´s intention to share his personal passion for perfumes and enhance our awareness of the impact of our olfactory senses. What Nasomatto stands for is strong emotions, expressed loudly and distinctly by remarkable, excentrical fragrances, oscillating between authenticity and delight, inspiration and a whiff of craziness.
